Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to stopping women dying from breast cancer. They aim to achieve this by finding new treatments, discovering the causes and promoting early detection. They also fund almost half of the breast cancer research in the UK.
The £1,000 Challenge is where Breakthrough began. Back in 1990, they asked 15,000 people to each raise £1,000 – £15 million in total – to fund the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre. The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre brings together world leaders across key research areas who have one aim – to save the lives of people affected by breast cancer.
Now both mine and my mum's name adorn that wall at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London - all thanks to your support.
